SERVICE PLEDGE

The service responsibilities of the organization can essentially be divided into two main areas.  One area would consist of BBU’s responsibilities to the community at large.  The second area would entail the responsibilities of BBU to its own members.  A few of these obligations can be included under either the community realm or the internal realm (the members of the organization itself).

Responsibilities to the community include seminars concerning the plight of the males of color, domestic violence, tutorial services, workshops concerning the qualities employers look for when seeking new employees.  Also, although we have explicitly mentioned the role of the organization in helping males living and growing up in urban areas, we do not intend to ignore the plight of the elderly, but rather inform our members and the rest of the community about what older people and their welfare mean to us.

Our responsibilities to our members would entail tutorial services, job assistance, computer training, seminars, educational programming and so on.  Obviously, many of the obligations that we have to our members would extend to the community as well.
